Smelly Feet

Yesterday I got new shoes. I’m really picky when it comes to shoes. I want the perfect shoe for as little money as possible. Last spring I bought these adorable canvas shoes & I ended up wearing them to an early grave. Man, I wore those shoes a lot. Anyway, the past few weeks I have occasionally tried to wear them out…but I couldn’t do it any longer. They look so sad…and they make my feet smell disgusting. Yesterday I wore them to the grocery store and nearly passed out when I kicked them off at home. Ick. So I ended up getting some new ones on sale for $20 at Journeys. I don’t think I like them as much, but I do like them quite a bit.

After purchasing my shoes, Elle & I walked around the mall a bit (because Joe was late to meet us for some Chic-Fil-A). Spring is just around the corner, I like spring…but it does not make me want to dress like a sailor. Why do so many stores sell nautical clothing in the spring?? Nothing against sailors, but I don’t feel the need to look like one while at work, or running errands, or on a night out with my husband.

Several weeks ago, Chris & Laura spent the weekend at our house. Elle was sick so they came over to watch her so I could go to church/work on Sunday morning. Chris likes to teach Elle things, it’s pretty cute and pretty scary at the same time. That particular weekend, Chris taught Elle how to clear the toys out of her toy cabinet, climb into it, & close the door. She loves it! It isn’t uncommon for me to walk back to her room & find her in the cabinet playing with it’s door closed (in the dark).

Cash Cab

Let me begin this post by informing you all that I love New York City. It is my favorite place in the world (probably not saying too much, because I haven’t been too many places). Joe & I even went there on our honeymoon. Someday if When the boys make it big, I hope to will have a house there.

Ok, so I have a new addiction. The Discovery Channel has this really fun game show, Cash Cab. Oh dear, tell me that all of you out there love this show too! It is simple, Ben (the cab driver) picks up normal, unexpecting riders in NYC. They think they are just taking a normal cab ride. After they close the door & tell the driver where they want to go, the cab lights up & the games show music begins playing. That is my favorite part of the show, their faces are hilarious. They are quizzed on questions while the cab drives them to their destination, each right question earn them money. If they miss 3 questions, the cab pulls over and they get out…winning nothing but a free ride getting them closer to where they were heading. If they arrive at their destination without missing 3 questions, they will all the money they have earned. It’s so fun!

All Recipes Dot Com

A couple weeks ago I wrote about my dinner dilemma & I ended up getting a lot of advice from some friends. This weekend Tiffany emailed me about a website that she uses. Allrecipes is a website that I have used in the past, but never in this way. On the top bar there is a drop down menu and one of the options in Ingredient Search. With their ingredient search you can enter some of the ingredients that you have in your cupboard already & they will find a recipe for you that night. GENIUS!

Last night we had Macaroni & Cheese IV. It was pretty good (Elle loved it). One of my favorite features of the site as the way people can review the recipe & give their tips. It nice to be able to learn from other peoples mistakes. Like with this recipe, it call for WAY too much macaroni. Had the reviews not mentioned that I would have had issues…noodle overload. The end result would have probably been me in tears because I was frustrated at my failure and us eating out for the rest of the week and gaining 5 pounds and crying more because I felt like a cow. So, thanks Tiff!!
