Here are some of Elle’s recents shining moments:
- “Mom, I’m full of toots inside me. Do you have toots inside you?”
- I had noticed that it was awfully quiet in the back seat of the car. I asked Elle what she was doing and she told me, “I’m hiding it.”
“What are you hiding?”
“My booger.”
“Where are you hiding it?”
“In my fist (as she throws her fist in the air with pride)!!”
“Boogers aren’t toys.”
“OK, I’ll put it back.” And she stuck it back in her nose. Later that night, I was recounting the conversation with Joe & she pulled the prized booger out of her nose again. I wasn’t aware that she had saved it.
- She refers to all poop as “pooplets”…all the time…in public.
- If you tell her that she is silly, or a big girl, or a good friend, or anything, she corrected you and says that is Elle McGill.

Kelli, I hope that you are saving all of these posts in a separate word document. Your “blogged book” about your life as a mom in the early years. It will be priceless to you someday.

But can she sing all the lyrics to “Paint It Black” by the Rolling Stones? Because Miles can and doesn’t hesitate to sing it as loud as he can everywhere he goes…the grocery store, the baby-sitter’s, Target, Mason’s school. He’s also very interested in whether or not everyone in his presence likes the song as much as he does and if they can sing it with him. He doesn’t get many duets. A sales clerk at Macy’s recently looked a little appalled at the fact that he knew that song but didn’t know all of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. We’ve started playing more children’s music in the car as an intervention. I’m not kidding…he knows EVERY lyric.

Earth Muffin: That’s pretty classic…and hard to beat, I admit. Elle knows a couple John Mayer tunes, but hasn’t even heard of the Rolling Stones. You’ve got one cultured kid on your hands

I have just stumbled upon your blog and read a few posts and have not laughed so much for a long time! My 2 year old currently has a fascination for ‘boogers’ also. although she hasn’t taken to hiding them as of yet! Well not that I know of.
