Busy…But Really Good

Here is a rundown of our weekend:

  • Took Elle to Illinois to spend the night with Joe’s Dad & Step-mom (Butch & Judy). They are both teachers & wanted an Elle filled night before they head back to work.
  • Joe & I went to Brent & Melissa Mackey’s house for dinner. Joe has been able to get to know the Mackeys for quite a while now, but I am just now getting to know them. He’s been keeping them all to himself. Anyway, we had a great time & they are quickly becoming some of my favorite people.
  • Butch called, Elle is running a fever (101). They are taking her to their house & putting her to bed.
  • Elle throws up multiple times in their car. They don’t call & worry us with this minor detail (for which, I am grateful).

  • I’m up at 8am. Joe sleeps till 10:30. I’m a grown up. Joe is still a teenager.
  • We head to The Home Depo to get stuff to fix the weed-eater.
  • Joe curses the day he bought the weed-eater, but does fix it.
  • We fill 4 yard waste bags with WEEDS. Nothing but weeds.
  • Chris & Laura come over with their new puppy, Sydney. (picture below). We remember that Rigby does not play well with others.
  • Head to dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory for Grandma Marilynn’s Birthday dinner & to pick up Elle (whom, btw, is completely fine at this point).
  • Joe & Judy try to properly re-strap Elle’s car seat which had to be disassembled twice due to vomit & lingering vomit stenches.
  • Drive .25 mile to Oberweis for a heavenly milkshake.
  • Joe again tries to re-strap Elle’s car seat, because it was way too tight on her…but wouldn’t loosen.
  • Consume heavenly milkshake
  • Joe again tried to re-strap Elle’s car seat, because this time it was way too loose on her…but wouldn’t tighten. This time he was successful!
  • Bath & put Elle in bed at 10:30.

  • Wake Elle up at 6:15am
  • Church
  • Stay at church until 3:00 to sterilize the nursery with a team of volunteers
  • Drive 30 minutes home
  • Leave house at 4:15 to head to Burggraafs to help them move. Dustin, Jessica & Ava moved to St. Louis to be more available for FE stuff. Plus, Dustin got a job at our church working with Joe.
  • Get home at 10. Crash.
