Whirlwind of Craziness

by

It was a doozie of a weekend. Aren’t weekends supposed to be the time of the week where you get you slow down & catch your breath? So often our weekends turn into a “whirlwind of craziness.” My house is a disaster because we were in “throw & go” mode for 3 days straight. Run in the door, drop your stuff, pick up different stuff & run out the door again. There is literally a sheet of dog hair covering the carpet & couch because I have gone 4 days without vacuuming (gasp! darn lab/husky mix). Plus, there have been clean dishes in the dishwasher for 2 days & a bunch of dirty ones in the sink waiting for their turn to be washed. And we won’t even talk about the laundry & the lack of clean underwear in Joe’s drawer (sorry, Babe).

Ok, enough whining. I’ll post more about our weekend madness later this afternoon.

Life is in the details. Enjoy the things you DO far more than you feel guilty for the mundane chores that take a back seat for a while. I’ve never sat by the bedside of a dying woman who said, “I wish I had been more consistent at washing dishes and cleaning house!” They all say, “I wish I had been a better mom, wife, and a more faithful Christ-follower.” Dog hair happens. Dirty dishes happen. You’ll never get and stay caught up. So enjoy your dance through life with your husband and child!

    Trust me on this one…
