For those of you crafty blog hoppers out there, you are probably aware that there was a huge movement to make all handmade gifts for Christmas this year. It is insane to me that people are able to pull this off. I can’t even begin to imagine doing that. But I love the idea, so I decided to do a few hand-made gifts. Last week I posted the table that was semi-handmade for Elle. The other 2 gift I made were cloth napkins for Nicole (who blogged a few months ago about how her family is going green by no longer using disposable napkins) & a purse for Kristi (my sister-in-law).
The napkins turned out fine *CLOSE YOUR EYES, NICOLE* but I think my sewing skills have improved immensely since I made Kristi’s purse…so Nicole may be getting a new set of napkins if I can find the time. Anyway, they have different fabrics on each side & I used a blue ric-rak between the layers.
Kristi’s purse made me insanely nervous to make. I have not done much sewing…and zero sewing with a pattern. It took quite a bit of time. And I only had to take it completely apart once. Now, it isn’t perfect, but if you squint your eyes it is. So if you see Kristi, just squint & tell her how much you like her purse, ok!?
