Enjoy Your Weekend!

Scrubba Dub Dub

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Tonight I was feeling brave & decided to teach Elle how to take a shower. Maybe I was feeling invincible after the car wash fiasco. I got drenched because I was still needing to do the actual scrubbing but she loved every second of it. 90% of the time she was giggling. And her mouth was open the entire time. What is it with kids & drinking warm bath water? I’m pretty sure that she is never going to want a plain ol’ bath ever again.

Snowing, Bundling, Playing, Whining & Ignoring

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

We woke up to about 6 inches of snow on the ground! Yesterday we had about an inch & Elle barely noticed. Today she begged to go out in it. I forget how hard it is it get kids bundled up to plan in the snow. It was ridiculous, I was already tired before we got into the snow. She didn’t really know what to do with herself. In fact, she had a couple panic moments when she thought she was stuck in the snow. I tried my hardest to encourage her to get “unstuck” without laughing at her.

She spent the remainder of the morning whining about everything. Her nose has been a bit runny (as you can see by the snot frozen to her face in a couple of the pictures), so I took her temperature. She has a low fever. Lovely. My plan of attack it to ignore the temp & hope it was a fluke. To many of our friends are fighting a nasty stomach bug. Hopefully if is it something, it’s only a cold. Oh now I’m thinking about it too much…back to ignoring. I’m a great mom 🙂

Car Wash Fiasco

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

Why do I always wait until the last week possible to start the process of renewing our license plates? Ugh. It is the most dreaded task of the year (well, every other year I guess). Here in Missouri you can purchase a 2 year sticker (which is fabulous) but every other year you have to have a vehicle safety inspection & an emissions test. I have no doubt that my car will be fine…but I am holding my breath about Joe’s. That car has been a thorn in our sides since the year we purchased it. Now it has learned this fancy new trick where the rear passenger side window slides down…by it’s self & will not go up. Oh it’s lovely. You have to pull it up with your hands, I think the motor for the window died.

Last Friday I was trying to be a sweet wife & wash Joe’s car for him. So I pull over in the parking lot right before I pull into the car wash, I hop out, pull up the window (it has slipped about 3/4 of an inch). I assumed that I would be fine in the car wash. Umm, I was wrong. Really wrong. About half way through the wash the window started slipping. It ended up sliding half way down. I literally was looking around for hidden cameras. It was like an episode of I Love Lucy. I’m scrambling to try to get the window up, but I’m getting pretty wet & the window was so wet that it wouldn’t stay up. Oh, and it just got better when the car went through the huge fan driers. It was like a tornado in the car. At that point, I just gave up, crawled back into the drivers seat & headed home.

And ya want to know the best part? 3 days laster we have a lovely snow, ice combo so now his car is filthy again. I think he can wash his own car this time.

Sucking Up

Sunday, January 25, 2009

Elle’s favorite phrase of the weekend has been “you’re the best mom I have ever seen.” She mastered the art of sucking up early & has pretty much gotten what ever she wants from me.

She also spent the day on Friday with Joe at Russ & Katie’s house. According to Joe she peed in her pants 3 times. Fought with Eliot. And fell asleep in Russ & Katie’s bedroom closet when she was supposed to be napping on their bed. Elle should probably sucking up to her dad. He wasn’t too happy with her.
