Da’ Spa

by

On Saturday Laura & I ventured over to Illinois to a spa.  Can I tell you how excited I was?  We had been planning this trip since early September & decided to wait until Laura finished up her master’s degree.  In December she wrapped up with school & the spa day finally arrived.  Joe was in Nashville for the weekend & Elle was with Joe’s mom for the day so I was ready to relax.

I stared off with a facial.  I have never had a facial before so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. It. was. fabulous.  The facial lady (I’m sure she had a title but I have no idea what it would be) said that my chin is congested.  What in the world does that mean?  I said, “okay” but didn’t ask for details because I didn’t want to ruin the current state of relaxation that I had going.

Next it was massage time.  Oh how I love me some massage.  I am seriously considering purchasing one of those warming matts that they have laying under the sheets on the massage tables.  They instantly relax you the second you lay down.  Heaven.

Then Laura & I wrapped up the afternoon with pedicures and manicures.  I’m not a big manicure person becuase it just dosn’t seem to last very long, it already doesn’t look to hot.  But pedicures.  I would get one every weekend if money weren’t an issue.  Ok, I would do a lot of things if money weren’t an issue.

On the way home we decided to stop and catch a quick movie.  Oh dear.  Do not see Marley & Me if you are not in the mood to weep like a baby.  I’m not a crier, but I am a big dog lover & I was a mess.

Anyway, I have been trying to work weekly spa trips in to the budget, but I have yet to find a way.  If anyone has any tips, I would greatly appriciate it.

you cried at a movie? wow!

I would love to even work in MONTHLY pedicures and massages…that’s my goal for 2010. Maybe I ought to set the bar a little lower to start so I’m not completely disappointed.

I’ve only had one facial, and the Russian woman who did it scared the daylights out of me. It wasn’t all that relaxing.

I love facials! The products they use smell so good it makes me want to eat my face. Good for you and Laura to treat yourselves. Sometimes you just need to do that.

So – how open is Joe to some training to become a part-time spa specialist? Just a thought.
