Dear Face,

I’m not sure if you got this message…but we’re 28. Zits are no long necessary to torture me with. We’re supposed to be on the same team here. Ok?

Opposites Hurt

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Lately Elle has been all about opposites. It’s been an ongoing game between her & Joe the past couple days. Last night they picked up the opposite games once again. Here is how it went:

Joe: I love you with all my guts!

Elle: I love you with all my blood.

Joe & I both exchange quizzical glances, hiding our laughs.

Joe: I love you little.

Elle: I love you big.

Joe: I love you up.

Elle: I love you down.

Joe: I love you left.

Elle: I love you right.

Joe: I love you skinny.

Elle: I love you mom.

Ouch. Maybe I’ll lay off the chocolate a little bit. Oh and btw, I have never seen Joe laugh so hard in my life.

Ear Plugs

Monday, January 19, 2009

Joe requested custom made ear plugs for Christmas. Well, he picked them up from the audiologist today…and I’m beginning to regret that decision. I kindly reminded him that I would appreciate it if he didn’t wear them at home. He instantly got a huge smile on his face. Drats.

Da’ Spa

Monday, January 19, 2009

On Saturday Laura & I ventured over to Illinois to a spa.  Can I tell you how excited I was?  We had been planning this trip since early September & decided to wait until Laura finished up her master’s degree.  In December she wrapped up with school & the spa day finally arrived.  Joe was in Nashville for the weekend & Elle was with Joe’s mom for the day so I was ready to relax.

I stared off with a facial.  I have never had a facial before so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. It. was. fabulous.  The facial lady (I’m sure she had a title but I have no idea what it would be) said that my chin is congested.  What in the world does that mean?  I said, “okay” but didn’t ask for details because I didn’t want to ruin the current state of relaxation that I had going.

Next it was massage time.  Oh how I love me some massage.  I am seriously considering purchasing one of those warming matts that they have laying under the sheets on the massage tables.  They instantly relax you the second you lay down.  Heaven.

Then Laura & I wrapped up the afternoon with pedicures and manicures.  I’m not a big manicure person becuase it just dosn’t seem to last very long, it already doesn’t look to hot.  But pedicures.  I would get one every weekend if money weren’t an issue.  Ok, I would do a lot of things if money weren’t an issue.

On the way home we decided to stop and catch a quick movie.  Oh dear.  Do not see Marley & Me if you are not in the mood to weep like a baby.  I’m not a crier, but I am a big dog lover & I was a mess.

Anyway, I have been trying to work weekly spa trips in to the budget, but I have yet to find a way.  If anyone has any tips, I would greatly appriciate it.
