3 Going On 13

Thursday, April 30, 2009

Life with a nearly 3 year old is much different than life with a 2 year old. The emotions are often running high & at times I find myself just wanting to walk into my bedroom and close the door because the drama is just too much. But, I figured that you would all enjoy the drama.

Tuesday night, Elle burst into tears because I washed her a pear (which she had requested) and handed it to her. After getting her to calm down, we learned that she wanted to grab the pear from my hand not have me place it in her hand. Seriously?

While playing with Playdough last week many tears were shed because should was having trouble rolling the dough into a ball. She ended up throwing it onto the floor because she “didn’t want it near her.” That one got her a nice little visit to time-out.

This morning I set out a pair of shorts and green t-shirt for Elle to wear. I walked out of the room to finish getting myself ready & shortly there after Elle comes marching into our bedroom and throws the t-shirt of the ground in a very dramatic fashion. She announces that she is “does not want to wear the same color as the trees!”

I think you get the picture.

Elle, my nearly 3 year old, just asked if we can get a Wii next time we’re are Target. I could do nothing but laugh. When I was 3 I wanted a tricycle.

Dear Maternity Clothes Makers,

Monday, April 27, 2009

Um, just because I am pregnant does not mean that I want to look cutsie all the time.  I know my hormones are a little out of control lately, but that does not mean that I want to look like a lolipop or a floral garden.  It does not increase my desire to wear frilly flowy tops.  Nope, not one bit.  If someone could make something that is still trendy and not matronly it would be greatly appriciated.

Doing this would greatly decrease my morning “figure out what to wear” time.  Plus, my husband and daughter would no longer run screaming from the room because they are scared that I could snap at any moment due to the emotional funk that putting on maternity clothes puts me in.  So really, you would be saving a family.

Thanks so much for listening,

For Your Weekend Listening Pleasure

Friday, April 24, 2009

Growing up, my dad had this little thing that he always did.  If he heard a song that he like & he wanted to hear it again he would say “G.S.G.P.T.” meaning Good Songs Get Played Twice.  Then if he really liked the song it would get the ‘ol “G.S.G.P.T.T” for Great Songs Get Played Three Times.

Well, I have had a G.S.G.P.T. lately.  In fact, I’m pretty much addicted to the song.  It isn’t super new, but I still love it.  If you aren’t familiar with Dave Barnes I suggest fixing that.  Even if you don’t love his music, he has some hilarious homemade videos floating out there on the internets.

Anyway, here is my newest addiction.  Hope it sets a good mood for your weekend!
