Last night we joined the rest of our family & a couple friends for dinner to celebrate Laura’s birthday.  We met up at a local Mexican joint to make the pregnant birthday girl very happy with a bowl full of cheese dip (Btw, have I mentioned that I’m going to be an aunt again in August?  We find out this weekend if the baby is a boy or girl.  So excited!)

We were all just chatting away when the table behind us was interrupted by the servers singing Happy Birthday for them (& presenting them with a huge bowl of ice cream).  Elle immediately decided that they needed to be informed that it was Laura’s birthday too.  I’m pretty sure the ice cream was the motivating factor.  As they walked away from their table she started shouting, “Hey!  We have a birthday girl here!”  She shouted this MULTIPLE times.  MULTIPLE.  When it didn’t get their attention (we were all rolling on the floor laughing), she decided to take it to the next level.  The child started to loudly “whistle” to see if that would get her noticed.  By that point we were all dying.  She did end up getting their attention and informing them that it was Laura’s birthday.

The best part was after she informed them.  Elle managed to convince all 12 adults at the table to “whistle” with her.  She would count to 3 and they would make the whistle noise.  Juliette (whom met Elle for the 1st time last night) put it best, “that’s not a learned personality trait.”  Nope, she’s just that crazy by nature.
